Ricky Price Becomes New Rotary President

Article published by The Banner — McKENZIE, TN (June 24) — Ricky Price has been named the new president of the Rotary Club of McKenzie. He was officially inducted into his position on Tuesday, June 24, during an installation banquet at the Hometown Hangout. Price’s term will begin on July 1. Jason Martin, the president for 2023-24, conducted the induction ceremony and highlighted that Price is the first African-American to serve in this role.

Previously, Price held the positions of vice president and program chairman during the 2024-25 year. Armand Hebert will serve as the new vice president and program chairman.

  • William Milam, Jr., Sergeant at Arms
  • Ed Perkins, Chairman of the Fannie Baxter Moore Fund
  • Joe Neumair, Treasurer
  • Jason Martin, Rotary Foundation and Polio-Plus Campaign Chairman
  • Joel Washburn, Public Image Chairman
  • Christy Williams, Immediate Past President

During the banquet, President Williams presented awards for outstanding service. Susan Dyer received the Oscar Owen Rotarian of the Year award, while Ryan Griffin was honored with the Ed Perkins Humanitarian of the Year award. William Milam, Jr. received the Clark Brown Rotary Champion of the Year award.

Williams expressed gratitude to club members for their contributions and service, which made the 2024-25 year a success in supporting both the local community and Rotary International. The club achieved many of its goals throughout the year.

Price emphasized the honor the club received for its donations to Rotary District 6760, which encompasses areas of middle and western Tennessee, as well as to Rotary International. The club achieved “Every Rotarian, Every Year” status by making contributions to Rotary International on behalf of every member. Price credited Jason Martin for leading the focus on international giving.

Looking ahead, Price expressed his enthusiasm for his upcoming year as the leader of the local club. The McKenzie Rotary meets each Tuesday at noon at the Vera Low Center on Bethel University’s campus.
